Keith
Frost started making a backyard rink when his oldest son was three years
old. He’s now off to university, so
Frost continues to build it mostly for his other two children, daughter Logan
and son Dawson, and jokes that it’s become almost a habit now. His favourite
thing about the rink is how it can become a social setting for the kids and
their friends and families to come and spend time together. Along with the rink,
he’s also built an ice shack / warming hut, which is more like a clubhouse. It gives everyone a warm place to lace up and
documents the many visitors and events over the years, including signatures,
all over the walls. “Everyone who comes in needs to sign the wall,” said Frost.
