My name is Julia McKay.

I am a 40-something woman who lives in Kingston, Ont., Canada and I'd love to take your picture. I've always been the one who documents family and community events… to the point that others will leave their cameras at home if they knew I'm coming.

I've debated long and hard as to which I enjoy more about photography and photojournalism - being the woman in charge of a shoot at an event, or being in the limelight, published on the front page of my community newspaper. I've concluded that as long as I'm involved with my passion of photography, all is right with the world.

Since graduating with a photojournalism diploma from Loyalist College in 2013, I have joined the Postmedia family and have been on staff at The Kingston Whig-Standard as a multimedia journalist.

I am also available for editorial, commercial, corporate, and documentary work.  Please feel free to contact me.
